Ville Valo & Natalia Avelon - Summer Wine

"Summer Wine" is a song originally sung by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood. It was later covered by Bono of U2 with The Corrs, Gry with FM Einheit and his Orchestra, Scooter (on the 2000 album Sheffield), and by Ville Valo & Natalia Avelon for the soundtrack of "Das Wilde Leben". It was also covered by Ed Kuepper and Clare Bowditch on the cult Australian music gameshow Rockwiz.

Hyundai Genesis V8 Sedan Caught Unmasked

The production version Hyundai Genesis V8 Sedan is a cross between a Lexus LS and a BMW 5-Series sedan. Look at the shape of the headlights and tail-lamps or the lines of the trunk for example. It’s as if Hyundai’s designers took the original Genesis prototype that was previewed at the New York Show last April and ingrained it with several doses of Lexus and BMW. But on the other hand, when you take in consideration that the rear-wheel-drive Genesis Sedan will be equipped with a 300+ Hp V8 engine at a price starting well under $30,000 (approx. €20,500), we think that the imitative design will be the last thing that buyers will notice.

Alfa Romeo - your future is looking bright!

Alfa Romeo’s competition to find a name for its 147 replacement has come to an end and the winner name is ‘Furiosa’. Earlier in the year Afla bosses decided to drop the numerical naming practice in favor of going with individual names that could generate excitement and passion and nothing represents this better than Furiosa. However, not all markets are expected to use the name.

Out of the 12 possible choices: Agea, Enos, Everson, Fira, Furiosa, Milo, Mod, Nevo, Solea, Sparvo, Velvetta and Ventura; 'Furiosa' is truly the best choice!

I love it ! Good job Alfa Romeo! The future looks very bright for Alfa Romeo. Recently Alfa boss Antonio Baravalle revealed the current numeric naming pattern would be dropped in favor of individual names for each new model and all models except the 'Furiosa'(for cost reasons) will be rear-wheel drive. Alfa Romeos will truly be pure-sport vehicles. I just hope that the round tail lights that feature on the 8C Competizione, will be featured on all Alfa Romeos. Nothing else says 'classic car design' in my opinion than round tail lights ;-)

Honda Hate Something Advert

In 2004, Honda produced the Hate Something advert, which is still shown on British television now, usually immediately followed by a shortened version of the 2005/2006 Impossible Dream advert.

Honda Cog Advertisement

In 2003, Honda released its Cog advertisement in the UK and on the Internet. To make the ad, the engineers at Honda constructed a Rube Goldberg Machine made entirely out of car parts from the Honda Accord. To the despair of the engineers at Honda, all the parts were taken from 2 of only 6 hand assembled pre-production models of the Accord. The ad depicted a single cog which sets off a chain of events that ends with the Honda Accord moving and Garrison Keillor speaking the tagline, "Isn't it nice when things just... work?" It took 606 takes to get it perfect. This is one of my favourite commercials. Simply amazing!

The french are planning in extreme secrecy the Megane. The new Renault will share Qashqai's platform. The front fascia will be inspired by the new Laguna and future Laguna Coupe, while the back is completly new for the Renault brand, reminding us of the Opel Astra GTC, and the first generation Megane Coupe, a very appreciated car at its time.

Fiat 500 Is The “2008 Car Of The Year”

I was right! As I predicted in my previous post! The new Fiat 500 has been named “2008 Car Of The Year” by European auto journalists. Although the results were initially planned to be announced on Monday, November 19, 2007, Dutch car magazine Autovisie, which is one of the founding publications of the “Car of the year” organization, decided to spill the beans earlier by posting the story on there website.
The 500 was awarded with 385 points by the 58 European journalists that participated while in second place we find the Mazda2 with 325 points followed by the new Ford Mondeo with 202 points.

Batman: Dead End

Batman: Dead End is a fan film made by Sandy Collora that premiered July 19, 2003 at the San Diego Comic Con, and on the internet shortly thereafter.

The film, made for a reported $30,000 and actually shot on film, stars Clark Bartram as the Batman, who is chasing down an escaped Joker, played by Andrew Koenig. In a surprise move, popular science fiction franchise characters (Predators and Aliens) enter the fray and force a showdown. The Batman character had previously fought both races in a series of comic books from Dark Horse Comics, and the film draws some of its imagery from those comics.

Film director and comic book writer Kevin Smith called it "possibly the truest, best Batman movie ever made."[1]. Comic book artist Alex Ross praised it as "Batman the way I've always wanted to see him."[2]. Collora has stated in interviews that the film was made as a demonstration reel to attract attention to his directing skills, and as such, succeeded in its goal.

Collora filmed a similar project, 2004's World's Finest, with much of the same cast and crew.

Fan Films Quarterly listed Batman: Dead End as one of the 10 most pivotal moments in fan film history in its Summer 2006 issue.

Pinky and the Brain is one of the funniest animated tv shows there was. This intro shows it. The show was also a part of Animaniacs.

M.A.S.K.

One of many cartoons produced during the 1980s as a vehicle for toy merchandising, M.A.S.K. (which is an acronym for the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), was a hybrid of popular era cartoons G.I. Joe and The Transformers. It featured a special task force featuring an array of charachters, led by Matt Trakker, with transforming vehicles engaged in an ongoing battle against the criminal organization V.E.N.O.M. (an acronym for the Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), with an emphasis on super-powered helmets called masks worn by the characters on the show.
M.A.S.K. was an animated television series directed by three uncredited Japanese studios, KK C&D Asia, Studio World, Ashi Production, and produced by the French-American DIC Enterprises, Inc (Jean Chalopin & Andy Heyward) and also the toyline of the same name sold by Kenner.
A total of 75 episodes were broadcast from between 1985 and 1988 in syndication.
